In Kindergarten, we have some awesome teachers. Here's a little about each of them.
My name is Alyssa Halliburton and this is my fourth year teaching. I've taught kindergarten for the past three years and love it! I'm happily married to my best friend Quentin, and we have one handsome puppy named Frodo. I absolutely love to read a good book and spending time with family. I'm so excited to be your KK-01 teacher this year!
Hi Kindergarten Parents, Students and Visitors! I am your KK-03 teacher, Ms. Sondra M. Brooks-Whitfield! I was born and raised right here in Memphis. I have had the pleasure of teaching young minds for 17 years. I'm a TSU and Cumberland University graduate. I am always willing to try new things. In my spare time, I teach dance (all types), crochet, do crafts, watch old movies ( mostly musicals, lol), travel and read. Anyone that has walked into my classroom knows that I LOVE BOOKS! I believe books can teach you many things and take you many places. I am sooooooo excited to be a partner in learning with each and everyone of my students and their parents!
Hello from KK-02! I'm Kristie Lotz, and I am thrilled to be on this kindergarten journey with you and your child this year! Learning and exploring have always been a joy for me, and I love coming alongside kiddos who are discovering new things for themselves. My family is from Washington state and Brazil, and my favorite things include hiking, rainy weather, meeting new people, and my dog Roxy. I am excited for all that is to come in this important year!
Hi guys! My name is Miranda Best and I'm your KK-04 teacher. I am a native of Oxford, Mississippi. I am newly married, a new mom, and a new KINDERGARTEN TEACHER! I love spending time with family, watching great movies, reading books, and learning new things! I look forward to a great year with each and every one of you!!!
My name is Bethany Sharp. I am currently a Resident at Memphis Teacher Residency who is in training to become a teacher. My mentor teacher for this year is Ms. Whitfield. I love to run, spend time with my family and friends, watch movies, listen to music and dance. I am so excited to learn how to teach at Cherokee and to be working with kindergarten!
